CONCERNED CHRISTIANS SUPPORTING
SUNDANESE MINISTRIES IN INDONESIA

LAMPSTAND is a concept of evangelism and church planting among the Sundanese people of West Java. In Matthew 5:15, Jesus says: “Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.” The purpose of LAMPSTAND is to proclaim and glorify the Lord Jesus among the Sundanese.

1. Coordinate multiple efforts of evangelism and church development through:
Training church leadership
Developing church music and other worship aids
Preparing and distributing literature
Promoting spiritual growth and enthusiasm through retreats.

2. Plant churches by:
Operating a Training School to prepare evangelists for doing cross cultural evangelism and church planting

Supervising Church Planters in the ministry of church planting among the Sundanese. This includes community development projects.

LAMPSTAND encourages and supports the endeavors of compatible groups with the same vision for the Sundanese. This is done primarily through prayer, financial aid, sending qualified teachers for the evangelists’ training school, and through human rights advocacy.

PERSECUTION
The greatest danger for the Church in Indonesia today is persecution which comes from the Muslim community with support from the government structures. A response of love is God’s way to win hearts and we have seen it have great impact in the past. But those of us who pray for Indonesia must also advocate equal human rights for Christians as well as for Muslims. We can do this in part through contacting embassies and United Nations committees.
